*Overdue and non-print items must be returned at the Circulation Counter.
To renew your loaned items, please log on to My Library Record. You may refer to Online Renewal for instructions.
Please note that:
- All checked-out items with a loan period of more than 14 days are subject to recall by other users.
- Once an item is recalled, its due date may be shortened and cannot be renewed. It has to be returned in 14 days or by the original due date, whichever comes earlier.
- A recall notice with a new due date will be sent to you via institutional email.
- Late return of recalled items will incur an overdue fine of HK$ 3 per item per day.
To reserve an item currently checked-out by another user, please refer to Online Request for instructions. You can pick up the requested item at the the Circulation Counter in 3 days upon receipt of an email notification.
Request service is only applicable to items that are currently on loan to other users.
Discovery Search is a one-stop search platform to help you find and locate all types of library resources:
- Print books
- e-books
- e-journal articles
- Audio-visual materials
To effectively locate a print item on bookshelves, make sure you have obtained the following information from Discovery Search:
- The collection to which the item belongs
- The call number assigned to the print item

To view an e-book / e-journal article, click on any of the links provided under the View Online section on Discovery Search. All links can lead you to the full-text.

You can access hundreds of e-databases in different subjects via A-Z List e-Databases. These databases provide a wide variety of information ranging from e-books, e-journals, e-newspapers, e-magazines, to videos, 3D images, case studies, and theses and dissertations to support your learning and research needs in different programmes.
Library orientation sessions and workshops are held regularly during the academic year to equip you with the information literacy skills necessary to conduct literature search, and master the use of specific e-databases and referencing tools for your assignments and research works.

Library Orientation & Workshops

Computer Workstations are available throughout the Library and the Learning Commons.
- No reservation is required.
- Designated computers are installed with advanced software applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud, SPSS Statistics and EndNote.
To support e-learning, laptops / MacBooks are available for loan at the Help Desk of the Learning Commons. You may borrow either laptops or MacBooks for use in the Library.

There are 10 Octopus-operated multi-function photocopiers / printers (MFPs) for printing, copying and scanning throughout the Library and the Learning Commons.

The printing / photocopying charges are as follows:

Group Discussion Rooms
There are 4 group discussion rooms in the Learning Commons to support collaborative study needs. Each room can accomodate up to 15 users.

Study Pods
There are 3 study pods, 2 in the Library and 1 in the Learning Commons. Each study pod can accomodate up to 4 users.

You can reserve group discussion rooms or study pods, as long as there are 3 occupants, for a period of 2 hours via the Room Booking System (RBS). Please read all regulations carefully before submitting your requests.
Study Carrels
Study carrels are available at the Library for self-study purposes.

Quiet Study Area
The quiet study area is located at the Learning Commons. It aims to provide private space for users to study in a silent environment.
Separated with partition walls, each workspace carries a power socket for connecting personal electronic devices. To avoid creating nuisances to others, talking in the area is discouraged. If you are on the phone or wish to have conversations with others, please move to other areas of the Library.
