Overview

Members of SFU and CBCC are most welcome to join our E-Resources Discovery Days to be held on 11-13 November 2024 to explore a vast array of digital resources and to get a chance to win fabulous prizes!

Representatives and professional trainers from well-known e-resources vendors have been invited to set up booths at the Learning Commons to familiarize you with their featured resources and to hold a series of workshops to show you different search functions which enable you to locate books, journal articles and news stories more effectively.

Whether you are a student or a staff member, you are strongly encouraged to take part in the event as the experience and expertise of the information professionals will surely help you master essential search skills and excel in your learning, teaching and research activities.

*The Stamp Collection Flyer will be given to you on the spot. To become eligible for the lucky draw, you need to drop the flyer into a collection box placed at the library counter by 13 November 6:00 p.m. after you have completed all 3 tasks.

Eligible entrants will be notified by institutional e-mail and by phone on 14 November to attend the lucky draw and prize presentation ceremony that will take place on 15 November 2024.   2. Duplication of the same booth stamps on the Stamp Collection Flyer will NOT be accepted;
  3. Authorization of other person(s) to attend the lucky draw and prize presentation ceremony on your behalf will NOT be accepted;
  4. Late redemption will NOT be entertained. All prizes are NOT transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash;
  5. The Library is NOT liable for any cost or damage relating to or resulting from the acceptance and/or use of the above prizes by the participants;

This training will introduce the basic usage of EndNote 21 (Windows version), including installation, importation and organization of references in bibliography as well as citation and insertion in Word/PPT.

Initium Media focuses on the reporting of cultural, political and social issues in Greater China. The workshop will share the reporting style of Initium Media using articles on interesting topics and how they are different from traditional news in offering in-depth news with facts, statistics and analysis.
